Between Saint Vulbas and Le Grand Colombier, the 3rd stage of the Tour de l'Ain 2020 is a perfect rehearsal 3 weeks before the Tour de France.
Ideally placed on the 2020 calendar, the 32nd edition of the Tour de l Ain which will be contested from August 7 to 9, 2020 will be a perfect warm-up for the teams three weeks before the start of the Tour in Nice.
The race won by Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ) in 2019 at the top of the Grand Colombier should benefit from a very beautiful plateau
Great opportunity to recognize one of the queen stages of the Tour and to gauge its state of form after a disturbed spring disturbance, there is no doubt that the wearer of the yellow jersey at the top of the Grand Colombier will be among the best climbers in the most prestigious cycling race in the world.
Cyclists will have a lot to do with initially climbing the Montée de la Selle de Fromentel and its terrible passage at 22% above Virieu-le-Petit. They will then descend to the Bordèzes in Lochieu, then climb the Col de la Biche via Brénaz. From the summit of La Biche, the Tour will descend to Corbonod, Anglefort then Culoz from where the final ascent will take the sumptuous laces of the Grand Colombier located a few kilometers from the summit.
